Sirgany To Thrill At Kart Meet

Sirgany, who celebrates his ninth birthday today, is expected to dominate the Rotax Micro Max Class. According to reports from Ocala last Saturday, Sirgany qualified second in the class and went on to take the chequered flag in fine style. Issa, Sirgany impress in Florida

Making his debut in the Rotax Junior Class, Issa turned in a classy performance when he qualified on pole, won the pre-final, then returned later to take the chequered flag in the finals. “I think it was an outstanding performance by the young karter. He was competing in that class for the first time and won the pre-final and finals. This is his best performance on the Florida circuit,” commented Peter Rae, Issa’s driving coach. Read more

Nine-y-o Sirgany shines at Florida go-karting event

NINE-year-old Justin Sirgany said he felt no nerves at all as he held on for first place in the Homestead Karting Sprint Championship and second place overall in the ROTAX Micromax Karting Fall Championships in Florida recently. The St Andrew Prep School student returned from the United States on Monday carting his first-place plaque and runner-up trophy. 2011 US Rotax Max Grand Nationals

The Micro Max category kicked off the qualifying session with Neil Verhagen (Haase) as the provisional pole driver, using a couple partners to draft with around the track. His second circuit was quickest at 1:06.695. Eleven-minutes into the 15-minute session, the Birel drivers of Justin Sirgany and David Malukas worked together to better Verhagen’s time. Sirgany posted a lap of 1:06.616 to take over the pole position with Malukas just 0.047-seconds off. Read more
